Honest Review Policy
ReaderMagnet is committed to ethical book promotion. This policy governs all Advance Reader Copy (ARC) campaigns hosted on our platform.
Core Principles
Honest Reviews Only
ARC readers are expected to provide their genuine, unbiased opinion. There is never any obligation to leave a positive review. A 1-star honest review is valued more than a 5-star dishonest one.
No Compensation for Reviews
ARC readers receive a free advance copy of the book — nothing more. No payment, gift cards, additional books, or other incentives are offered in exchange for reviews. The free book is provided for reading purposes, not as payment for a review.
No Review Manipulation
Authors may not request specific star ratings, ask readers to change their reviews, offer incentives for positive reviews, or retaliate against negative reviews. Any author found violating this policy will have their campaign permanently removed.
Voluntary Participation
Joining an ARC team is entirely voluntary. Readers may choose not to finish the book or not to leave a review. While we encourage readers to post honest reviews, there is no penalty for not doing so.
Amazon & KDP Compliance
ReaderMagnet is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Amazon, Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), or any Amazon subsidiary. Our platform is designed to comply fully with Amazon's Community Guidelines and Terms of Service regarding customer reviews.
If you review, disclose the free copy
Amazon's Community Guidelines allow a review of a free advance copy, and they say the author cannot require a review in exchange or try to influence the opinion. KDP says a free or discounted copy is allowed when you do not require a review in exchange or attempt to influence it. A review is optional. If you post one, say you received a free copy. Do not say the review was required or given in exchange for the book.

What Amazon Prohibits (and We Enforce):
- Reviews from the author, publisher, or anyone with a financial interest in the book
- Reviews offered in exchange for compensation (beyond the free book itself)
- Reviews from close friends or family members of the author
- Coordinated review campaigns designed to inflate ratings
- Multiple reviews from the same person under different accounts
For Authors Using ReaderMagnet
By creating an ARC campaign on ReaderMagnet, you agree to the following:
- You will not offer any incentive beyond the free book for reviews
- You will not request specific star ratings from ARC readers
- You will not retaliate against readers who leave negative reviews
- You understand that ARC readers are under no obligation to leave a review
- You consent to ReaderMagnet featuring your book on social media (if opted in) with clear "Featured by ReaderMagnet" disclosure
Social Media Promotion Disclosure
ReaderMagnet may feature ARC books on its social media channels (Facebook, Instagram) to help authors find readers. All social posts:
- Are clearly labeled as "Featured by ReaderMagnet"
- Include a disclosure that readers receive a free copy and that a review is optional
- Are only posted for campaigns where the author has opted in
- Are selected through a randomized, fair queue system
Authors can opt out of social media promotion at any time through their campaign settings.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- • Removal of the ARC campaign from the platform
- • Permanent ban of the author's account
- • Notification to affected ARC readers
- • Reporting to Amazon if manipulation is detected
